Abstract Light and phytohormone are external internal cues that regulate plant growth development throughout their life cycle. BBXs (B-box domain proteins) a group of zinc finger proteins not only directly govern the transcription target genes but also associate with other factors to create meticulous regulatory network precisely numerous aspects developmental processes in plants. Recent studies demonstrate play pivotal roles light-controlled development. Besides, have been documented phytohormone-mediated physiological procedures. In this review, we summarize highlight multi-faced role BBXs, focus photomorphogenesis, photoperiodic flowering, shade avoidance, abiotic stress, plant.
